Joseph Mbuta
I am the first born in a family of two. My family and I currently live in Viwandani.
My early life was a good one since I had friends to play with and we always had food and a comfortable place to sleep when the day ended.
My most difficult experience was when my mom got sick and was diagnosed with epilepsy and I learnt that there is a lot of discrimination when it comes to dealing with illness. I also learned that therapy is good. It helped my mom and the family at large to accept the illness and know the first aid when she gets the seizures.
I felt really proud of myself during the U-TENA marathon since I spoke in front of all the people present at the end of the marathon.
One time my mom was able to buy birthday cake and I celebrated with my friends. My 12th birthday was very memorable.
My high school life was good at least with help from U-TENA and WEF so I wasn’t sent home for lack of school fees.
I want to be an automotive engineering expert and I am currently in a technical university to learn this.
After I get to my dream, I will help my family by building my parents a home to retire to. I will help my community to have self-help groups to make a living and be able to get money to cater for their family needs. I will help U-TENA and WEF to mentor the students and if possible, pay school fees for one student.
If I had the power to change things in my country, I would change the mentality of my country by letting them know how to elect a leader who will think of them first.
