Being raised and brought up in a slum always turns out to be a disadvantage. Viwandani is never a center of much exposure. So I had to try to live a life free of drug abuse, bad company and negative energy. Hardships in life were there, since my parents were not stable enough to cater for me and my sibling's interns of fees and other needs, but thanks god we managed to survive. Through U-TENA and my former primary school I got a chance to expose myself. I got the chance to interact with successful people, who became my mentors and role models. I was able to go for different science congresses where I enhanced my skills and creativity.
I was proud of myself for everything I did, and mostly for passing my KCSE and making it to the university to enroll as an engineering student. My high school life was not that easy but through WEF, I managed to stay in school and study like other students. U-TENA enhanced me with great leadership skills and motivation through talks, through the mentors I was assisted in my school work and assignment during the holidays.
My dream in life is to become a successful mechanical engineer with entrepreneurial leadership skills. I look forward to being able to give back to the community by encouraging young people like me since we are the ones to transform our community. For me to get there I must be self-disciplined and always ready to learn from others who are better than me. When I become successful I'll give my family the good life they deserve. I will give back to the community by being a pioneer of scholarships to those students who are unable to pay their school fees. I will come up with mentorship programs to mentor and encourage young people in the society. If god will help me to be that stable, I will partner with WEF and U-TENA in ensuring quality education is accessible to each student by helping them in paying their fees.
If I had power to change my country, I will first change the education system, since education is the key changing factor to development and stability. This will too change their mentality that people go to school not to become rich, but to gain knowledge and skills, and to interact with others hence enhancing their social skills and becoming great entrepreneurial leaders who will be the changing factor to the community and Africa at large.

Dear world education fund
Am sothankfull for such opportunity, life in school was not the way it was before, it was quite challenging having wasted a lot of time during the covid 19 pandemic .It need good planning an strategy on how to cope up with new challenges and also absorb pressure on syllabus coverage.
At school I had to put in more effort, I employed good time management by planning well for my lessons and fully utilizing every single minute that had during my free time so as can be a head of the teacher which really assisted me. Managed to do my examination and attained a B plain. Am looking forward to perform more than that, thank you WEF in co operation with U- tena may God bless you.
NAME: OYARO JOSEPH.
SCHOOL: FRIEND’S SCHOOL MBALE.
Since the outbreak of COVID 19 us as students we were really affected. Having being stayed at home for a couple of nine months indeed was a huge challenge for me as a student in terms of my education. I do thank U-TENA for hearing our call, that we needed assistance and came to our rescue organizing learning sessions in last year, which really reminded as we are students and e should continue working hard to achieve our goals.
Early January this year, we were informed of the schools reopening. We went back to school thinking that life and everything at school was still the same, but to our disappointment, life had changed because it was a marathon towards recovering the lost time. At school, fees was another challenge as expenses increased and the school was even running out of bankruptcy , but thank lord for the school was able to cop-up with the situation.
On arriving at school, I knew a lot of time had been wasted during the CORONA holiday. It came to my consciousness that I had to put some measures like being ahead of the teacher in terms of syllabus coverage, avoiding procrastination, and strictly following my school time table .This helped me a lot in covering the syllabus and recovering the lost time. My timetable and the revision materials available in school really assisted me during my revision.
Life in school was quite hard but despite that, I managed to attain an average mean grade of B PLAIN, though it was a drop according to my previous performance, but I believe I will improve. I am looking forward towards my K.C.S.E examination, and from the way am planning myself am sure I will be able to attain a mean grade of A PLAIN, I do promise to make you people proud.
Am so thankful to WORLD EDUCATION FUND through U-TENA for all you have done to me, indeed you are my heroes and my engine towards achieving my goals and having a successful life. As I will be going back to school, I promise to work smart and produce the best grades since a man is not limited. Thank you very much U-TENA.
