Naomi Odhiambo
I was born up-country in 2007 when my father came to Nairobi and left us back with our mother. My mother used to hustle for us to get food and we survived. I went to school in 2011 and came to Nairobi in 2017 when I was in class 5 and there is when I finished class 8 and got 286 marks because of lack of school fees due to longer stay at home.
My most difficult experience I had in my life was when I was sent back home for lack of school fees and my parents had no money to pay for it. I had to stay at home for 7 weeks and luckily my parents were able to raise some money to pay for my school fees. So I went back to school but it was difficult to catch up with others but I did not give up.
From my experience I learnt that you should not give up easily.
I felt proud of myself when I passed my end term exams after staying at home for long. I want to be a medical nurse to help my family and community.

I thank the almighty God for the far He has brought us. I also thank WEF for helping me remain in school, for this term. May God bless you all. I promise that I will work hard to improve my grade, but I tried since I’ve maintained my last term’s grade. I have a lot of challenges now in form 3, I lack some set books which affect my performance so much. I thank God for what I have, promising to try my best in the next term exams, not to let you down. Thank you so much U-Tena for listening to me, and may God bless you.
