Erick Madara
I am a determined and resilient student. My background was shaped by both adversity and triumph. Growing up in a tight-knit but financially challenged family, I learned the value of hard work from an early age. My most difficult experience was when my family faced a sudden health crisis that drained their resources, forcing us to rely on the kindness of our relatives. From this, I learned the importance of resilience, resourcefulness, and the power of community support. A moment of pride for me was when I was successfully elected as the school’s games captain in high school. My high school life was marked by dedication to academics while balancing responsibilities at home. My dream is to pursue a degree in Education to give back to my community. Once I achieve my dream, I plan to establish a free tuition center in my hometown, providing education to those in need and also work with WEF and U-Tena towards brightening the future of other children. If I had the power to change my country, I would focus on improving access to healthcare and education, believing that these fundamental changes can uplift communities and promote equality.

Erick Odhiambo. I first take this chance to thank the almighty for the gift of life and how far he has enable us to reach this far we always do not take it for granted.
Life in school has been well and we had adapted the way the covid-19 virus wanted us to live. Always putting on mask, sanitizing or washing your hands every now and then and always keeping the required distance. The term was as busy as bee, and also scheduled because the teachers had been ordered to finish the syllabus on time and that brought pressure as we were supposed to be taught even during the night preps. But all in all we have managed to cover the syllabus in some subjects.
Exams were not left behind as this term we had done two exams one for opener and end term of which I scored a grade of B plain and B plus respectively. Thanks to world education fund who have provided school fees that enabled me to stay in school without being sent home for school fees and has really improved my concentration in class.
I want to take this opportunity to wish world education fund in partnership with u-tena youth organization a merry Christmas and a happy 2022
