My academic year as a first year student in university has been one of the most difficult yet most beautiful and important transitions of my life. It all started as a dream in saying I wanted to go to university and achieve all my dreams so I build a better future. After I went to school I realized I had to be responsible for myself and my studies. I struggled a lot with the school work, some subjects I didn't really understand and even the stress of finances for my school fees and sometimes basic needs. But I knew I had to overcome every single challenge for me to be able to continue turning my dreams into a reality. I had to put in extra effort and time to revise and research for the subjects I didn't understand.
After my exams I felt really good knowing my efforts paid off because I had performed really well. That kept me going and gave me more confidence and strength to keep working hard. Some of the lessons I learnt this past academic year were resilience, responsibility and perseverance.
