My second semester as a Bachelor of Tourism Management student has been both challenging and rewarding. I gained a deeper understanding of the tourism industry through the different units we covered, including tourism planning, hospitality, environmental conservation, and destination management. These topics helped me appreciate the important role tourism plays in economic development and sustainable growth.
The semester also improved my communication, teamwork, and research skills through group assignments, presentations, and class discussions. Although balancing coursework and deadlines was sometimes difficult, I became better at managing my time and staying organized.
One of the highlights of the semester was learning about Kenya's diverse tourist attractions and the importance of conserving natural and cultural heritage for future generations. This inspired me to become more passionate about pursuing a career in the tourism sector.
