Consolata Kisayo
My early experience in life was when our father didn?t earn money. We had to sleep without eating any food. When my parents fought, it was difficult. I learnt that when money is not available in the house, people tend to fight a lot. It was very hard for my studies.
I was very proud when my teacher selected me as one of the students to be interviewed for the School Fund. When I passed my nationals with grade A, I was given words of encouragement by my family.
My dream is to become a doctor. I will become one by studying hard. When I reach my dream, I will help my parents to have good jobs so they can earn them good income. I will help my community by giving them medical treatment. if I have the power, I will make sure pregnant woman get free treatment and the elderly and disabled also get good treatment.

Here’s something new about medical profession that i would like to share with you
The Hidden Power of Sleep in Healthcare

In the fast-paced world of healthcare, sleep is often underestimated—both by patients and healthcare professionals. While medicines, surgeries, and technologies take center stage, sleep quietly plays a critical role in healing, immunity, and mental well-being.

Research has shown that proper sleep enhances wound healing, improves immune response, and helps regulate vital hormones. For patients in hospitals, disrupted sleep patterns can delay recovery, increase stress, and even raise the risk of complications. For healthcare workers, lack of sleep leads to burnout, reduced focus, and higher chances of medical errors.

Yet, sleep is free, natural, and universally available.

Simple interventions like dimming hospital lights at night, reducing noise levels, and educating patients and staff about sleep hygiene can make a huge difference. Encouraging short naps for healthcare workers during long shifts can also boost alertness and performance.

As we continue to innovate in medicine, we must not forget that sometimes, the most powerful healing tool is rest. Sleep is not a luxury—it’s a necessity. It’s time we gave it the attention it deserves in our healthcare systems.
