Witness Esau
My name is Witness Esau and I am a Form One student at Welwel Secondary School. I am fourteen years old and the first-born in my family, which has four children.
The economic position of my parents is poor. They are peasant farmers and do not have enough money to pay for basic school needs such as food and exercise books. This makes it difficult for them to provide for my school expenses on time.
I remember a happy moment in my life when I was accepted into secondary school. It was a significant achievement for me and my family, despite our financial struggles. However, I also face difficulties because my parents often lack money for school uniforms and food at home. My mother works hard, but sometimes she has to sell things to make ends meet.
My experiences have shaped my future career aspirations. I want to become a neurologist (a doctor specializing in the brain) because I do not want to see my family remain poor.
I am determined to study hard so that I can help my family become financially stable and achieve a better life, just like other families in our community.
