I am a second born in our family and have seen what they go through especially my parents. They struggle hard to help me continue with my education. My father, who is a watchman, who is a tireless worker, stays all night in order to provide for us. Our mother, who is just a housewife and unable to provide for us financially. Despite all these, we have so far, made it through and I’m proud of passing my final exams with flying colors.
My difficult Experience is during this period of my studies. I lacked enough funds to see me through. I have faced significant challenges as a result of this. My parents didn't have enough school fees and weren't capable of coming up with such an amount. Through these experiences, I have learned to save little amount I get.
The proudest moment was when I emerged to have the best score in mathematics, even though it was a tough paper and later I was praised and gifted. But what I told myself is that this isn't the last time I will get such a score, I will continue to push harder. This gifting gesture made me to aim even higher than that.
My most memorable and happiest thing is the time I scored a higher and better grade in my KJSEA assessment despite being in the pioneer class. But nobody, not even the teachers, knew what the assessment looked like, but I succeeded in the end.
My dream is not what I want to become in the future but to become a better and great person by telling myself not to look back at yesterday, but to think about tomorrow for today has one zero (0) but tomorrow has three zeroes; thus, ‘tomorrow’ determines my future. I need to amend the mistakes I have made and to overcome what comes my way. I also need to work not only hard but smart.
To my family, I will become the game changer by relieving them of the financial burden I have seen them going through due to the lack of formal employment. I will help in many ways, such as providing support to the community by encouraging them never to lose hope in life no matter what they pass through, because the beginning always has an end. To WEF, as I am becoming a member, I would encourage young people to join the organization. I will always be one of those people who would support the organization in ways that I can.
I will set up many organizations in the country to help those who are in need not to suffer what I went through. These organizations, such as WEF, will help students to continue with their education and later pursue their careers so as to reduce the suffering in the country making our country better. More people will be educated and everything will have a fresh start.
